The week after the Mock Wedding was set to be a seminar week at the base.. except for a few of us 'longer term' students! We were bound for a 16 meter yacht to sail up around the west coast of Scotland for a whole week!! :D HOWEVER.. our little trip took a turn to the unexpected! :) We arrived at the boat after a 9 hour drive at 10:30 (ANDIE- WE DROVE PAST LOCH LOMUND!!!!!!!!!!!!).. to discover.. that the boat had been double booked! We were stranded!!!! :P It was too late to drive back to the base so we quickly found a youth hostel that would put us up for the night in Iveraray, Scotland. After a gas station dinner we arrived at the hostel and crashed.
I WOKE UP TO THE SOUND OF BAGPIPES.
IN SCOTLAND!!!!!!
I was so excited I ran out across the street to see a man in FULL DRESS playing his bagpipes. It was epic. :D WE got a bunch of pictures and headed into town for some breakfast. After eating we decided to go explore the local castle (http://www.avich-lodge.co.uk/photos/Inveraray-Castle.jpg).. and hiked up a HUGE till to a look-out point where we made funny videos and took great pictures. I love Iveraray. If I had to settle down anywhere in the UK it would be along the Scotland coast.. So beautiful. We then headed up to Oban and walked around town. OBAN IS AMAZING!!!!!! It's a port city with amazing buildings! I loved it. We drove to Glasgow where we spent the night playing DDR and staying in a hotel! The next day we explored Glasgow, it's magnificent cathedral and Victorian Age cemetery.. Beautiful. My flip flop ended up giving me blisters so I walked around the city barefoot! :D SO GREAT!!! That night we drove down to Keswick in Cumbria.. or in other words.. THE LAKE DISTRICT. A cute little town with a James Bond Museum. ;) We drove around exploring Beatrix Potter's countryside and seeing the lakes (even taking a boat ride ON a lake!) It was RAD.
The week after was back in Monmouth doing normal ministry. I went to an outing with the Attik in Abagavenny.. which was.. interesting. Some of these kids were out of control! But I went with Pearl so that was lovely.
THE BAND.
For the past week we have been hosting an American band -Anchor of Hope- from Florida as they had some concerts in Monmouth. They are so much fun! We have enjoyed our little adventures and getting to know them. They have been raising awareness for Redeem the Shadows, an organization that helps to abolish slavery and trafficking. My new friend Noel (who is in the band) began the organization after a trip to India. See http://www.redeemtheshadows.org/ for more details. :)
Last but not least, I am leaving Monmouth on Monday and will be out of Monmouth.. For how long I am not sure. I leave for Teenstreet on the 29th and directly after that South Hampton for Teens in Missions (extension of Teen Street).. KRISTEN SEELY IS VISITING ME!!! :D WHOPEE!! I can't wait! Please pray for safety during the outreaches and that God will really bless my time and give me the right things to say.

June!
June was GREAT!! First of all I got a new room mate!! She is lovely... and a great friend. She is Korean, lived in Singapore as an MK and in London as a PK.. And it has been so encouraging to have a friend to hang out with on our day off and watch the World Cup with. :) I am very blessed to have her around. (Sunhye.. if you are reading this.. don't let it go to your head!!!! ;) )
One change that has been made concerning my ministry is the Youth Track. My supervisors thought it would be a good idea to drop it from my studies because it has been a struggle to pioneer the program with no companion or backing team on top of all my other assignments. As far as ministry goes, I am not doing anything different with my work with youth. I'm still leading bible studies and hanging out with the girls! I also have responsibilities with leading youth related activities. The only difference is that I'm not working to get a youth workers certificate- mainly because it is only useful in the UK, and I'm not here long term.
This month I also had a fabulous visit from.. THE ENRIGHTS!!!! My second family from my home church! It was amazing!!!!!! We had so much fun catching up.. I showed them the base, my coworkers, Halesowen.. and then we drove to Warwick, saw Warwick Castle.. SO AMAZING!! And drove the rest of the day down to... LONDON!!!!! WHOPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO much fun seeing the sights, and.. getting lost??? YEP! Let's just say that I now know that the difference between the 'slow' train and the 'express train' could mean a 2 am taxi ride from Oxford. However, I have a great memory to look back on! ;) Thank you, Enrights for your visit. It meant the world to me! <3 Check my facebook for pictures!
When I got back to Monmouth our team took part in a mock wedding at the Comprehensive School.. Or High school for you Americanos.. :) The students set up and prepare a fake wedding for their religious education class to learn how marriage is approached from a Christian viewpoint. I was asked to give a short presentation on abstinence for 300 kids! It went well I think- no rotton tomatoes or anything of that sort. ;)

MAY.
Just a few things to tell about May!
Besides normal ministries I had a finance seminar, another Engage course in Bristol... Bristol is lovely! So cute and fun to explore.. I also had a meeting in Halesowen for an outreach in Lye (More on that later! ;).. At the next seminar week in the month I had the best thing happen.. I HAD A VISIT FROM A FRIEND!!!!!! Jenna Keiper stayed a while with me at the base while she was auditioning in London. What a LOVELY AMAZING WONDERFUL time!!!! I was so excited I could hardly contain myself. We ran around Birmingham seeing the sights and exploring. I was so encouraged. :D
RIght after her visit I was a leader on an outreach in Lye.. about 20 minutes from the base. I worked with a few girls from the other teams. We spread publicity around Lye for Christ Church's youth events and concert. It was really nice working with Keith, the youth pastor. Unfortunately since it was holiday time, there were hardly any kids about to go to the concert.. But we walked a LOT to find some! :) Another difficulty I had was I had an allergic reaction all week so I was completely exhausted. On the last day of the outreach I ended up sleeping for 17+ hours to recoup. One of the highlights was there were a few young girls who we were able to share the gospel with and one young girl in particular who kept coming to the services after we had left. :) Praise God!
